Hsin-Yuan Huang (Robert)

Robert is a Senior Research Scientist at Google Quantum AI and an Assistant Professor of Theoretical Physics at California Institute of Technology (CalTech). He previously held visiting positions at the MIT Center for Theoretical Physics (2023 – 2024) and the Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing at UC Berkeley (2024).
 

Robert earned his Ph.D. under the guidance of John Preskill and Thomas Vidick. His dissertation, Learning in the Quantum Universe, was awarded the prestigious Milton and Francis Clauser Doctoral Prize which is Caltech’s highest recognition for doctoral research across all disciplines, conferred annually to a single dissertation demonstrating exceptional originality and potential to open new frontiers of human knowledge.
