Hemendra K Sharma

Hemendra Kumar Sharma is a seasoned telecom professional with over 27 years of experience in Telecommunications, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and international development cooperation. His work spans policy formulation, large-scale technology deployment, international negotiations, south-south cooperation and capacity-building.

In his past association with Department of Telecommunications, Govt of India , he led initiatives on the application of artificial intelligence and data analytics for telecom governance, prevention of misuse of telecom resources, and policy innovation, leveraging emerging capabilities of 5G and beyond. He is actively engaged with ITU Study Groups, and brings a collaborative, people-centric approach to advancing responsible and inclusive technology adoption at national and international levels.

Academically, Hemendra holds a Masters of Engineering in Communications and a Masters in Management Studies in Management Systems and Marketing.
