H.E. Ms. Anita Pipan

Permanent Representative of Republic of Slovenia to the UN and other international organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Anita Pipan, took up her post in June 2021.

She is a career diplomat with over 30 years’ experience in international relations, multilateral affairs and high-level diplomacy.

She has served abroad in various capacities, including as Slovenian Ambassador to Greece, Belgium, African Union, and Alternate Representative of Slovenia to the UN Security Council. Ambassador Pipan has held different leadership positions in the Slovenian MFA, mainly dealing with multilateral organizations, human rights, security policy and development cooperation. She is currently co-chairing the Group of Friends for the Human Rights of Older Persons, the Group of Friends on Water and Peace and is Chair of the Working Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s accession to the WTO.

Ms. Pipan holds a Degree in Law from University of Ljubljana and a Master’s Degree in Law of International Economic Integration from Université Paris 1 – Panthéon Sorbonne and Universidad del Salvador Buenos Aires.
