H.E. Mrs. Rina Yessenia Lozano Gallegos

Prior to her appointment to Geneva, Ambassador Lozano Gallegos served as Director-General for foreign policy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of El Salvador (2019-2023). She was Director of the Office of Analysis of International Migration of the Vice-Ministry for Salvadorans Abroad at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from February (2016-2019), and she was Advisor to the Vice-Ministry for Salvadorans Abroad (2015-2016).

Ambassador Lozano Gallegos also served as Director of North, South America and the Caribbean at the General Directorate of Foreign Policy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2012-2015). She was Executive Assistant at the Minister’s Office (2010-2012).

She also worked as Office Manager in the USAID Project “Customs and Business Climate that Promote Trade and Investment” executed by the International Consulting Company Booz Allen Hamilton- USAID (2008-2010) and as intern at the Japan International Cooperation Agency (2006). She also has experience teaching at University and has a number of research papers and publications.

Ambassador Lozano Gallegos is a career diplomat and has a master’s degree in diplomacy from the Diplomatic Institute “Doctor José Gustavo Guerrero” (El Salvador, 2018); a master’s degree in applied political science from the School of Politics and High Government “Goberna América Latina” and the Instituto Universitario de Investigación Ortega y Gasset (Spain, 2012); and a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Universidad de El Salvador in El Salvador (El Salvador, 2008).
