H.E. Mr. Mohammed Khamis Abdulla

Mr. Mohammed Khamis Abdulla serves as the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Information Communication and Information Technology. Before being appointed as Permanent Secretary in 2023, Mr Mohammed served as Deputy Permanent Secretary for the same ministry for a period of 1 year from 2022. Prior to Joining Ministry of Information, Communication and Information Technology, Mr. Mohammed Abdulla served as a Deputy Permanent Secretary in Vice President Office, he also worked as Director of Management and Information System at Tanzania National Identification Authority (NIDA) for three (3) years. During this period Mr. Mohammed pioneered deployment of smartcard-based Biometric National Identity Card that was then integrated with other critical Information Systems such as Business Registration, Tax Payment Information System, he also pioneered the rolling out of Tanzania e-Immigration System.
His professional experience in the field of Information and Communication Technology spans more than 15 years, working both in Public and Private Institutions where he oversaw the rollout of Network Infrastructure Systems in telecom companies working both in Tanzania and outside Tanzania.
Mr. Mohammed Khamis Abdulla earned his Bachelor Degree of Science and Computer Science from Makerere University in Kampala Uganda and Master of Business Administration degree from the Mzumbe University in Dar es Salaam Tanzania.
