H.E. Dr. Lamia Fathi ABUSEDRA

Dr. Lamia Fathi Abusedra, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, the new Permanent Representative of Libya to the United Nations Office at Geneva presented on the 3rd of May 2022 her credentials to H.E. Ms. Tatiana Valovaya, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva. Prior to her appointment to Geneva, she was the first official female nominee for the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs in Libya in 2021. Dr. Abusedra had been serving as an Advisor to the Minister of State for Institution Reform and Head of Restructuration and Reform Office where she participated in the restructuring of numerous government institutions including the Ministry of Economy & Industry, refugee & migration agencies, media oversight authority, local governance & decentralization initiatives, and other government agencies from 2017 to 2020.
