Gustavo Wiederhecker

Gustavo Wiederhecker is an Associate Professor at the University of Campinas (Unicamp), Brazil, where he also earned his B.Sc. and Ph.D. in Physics. His research focuses on nonlinear optical phenomena in integrated photonic devices, particularly the interaction between light and mechanical waves. From 2008 to 2011, he was a postdoctoral fellow at Cornell University. He currently serves as coordinator of the QuTIa – Quantum Technologies Initiative of São Paulo, and was a Topical Editor for JOSA B in nanophotonics, optomechanics, and nonlinear optics until May 2025. He received the Grande Prêmio CAPES de Tese in 2009 and the Prêmio Zeferino Vaz de Reconhecimento Acadêmico in 2022.
