Guido Gómez Mazara

Dr. Guido Gómez Mazara is a lawyer, politician, and university professor with a solid academic background and extensive professional experience. He holds a PhD in Law from the Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE), a Master’s degree in Political Science and Public Administration from the New School for Social Research in New York, and courses in public policy from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain.

While studying in New York City, Góméz Mazara was director of the newspaper Listín USA and worked for the television network Telemundo. Upon his return to the Dominican Republic in 1994, he became active in politics, serving in various roles within the organization, including Legal Advisor to the Executive Branch during the 2000-2004 administration.

Throughout his professional and political career, Gómez Mazara has demonstrated a firm commitment to state modernization, institutional advancement, the fight against corruption, and promoting democratic values ​​in the country. In addition to his political career, Guido is a renowned producer and host of television and radio programs. He has been a law professor, published several books on politics, and is a columnist for the newspaper “Hoy.”

In his role as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dominican Telecommunications Institute (INDOTEL), he leads important reforms in this sector, with an emphasis on promoting the National Broadband Plan and implementing the 5G network in the Dominican Republic.

Under his leadership, INDOTEL works tirelessly to bridge the digital divide and facilitate access to technology, promoting collective progress and equity throughout the country.
