Grace C. Lin

Dr. Grace C. Lin is a Learning Scientist and Assessment Designer at Massachusetts Institute of Technology with over 10 years of experience in research projects focusing on building children’s and students’ capacity to learn. As an educational researcher, Grace has led teams of lab managers and research assistants on a multi-year educational intervention project targeting kindergartners’ mathematics skill through fun cognitive training games. An avid believer in transparent methodologies in research and the translation of scientific findings to the practical audience, she has contributed to building a measures repository, particularly its rating systems, of early childhood measurements meant for practitioners to use. More recently, Grace’s work has been focusing on child-centered AI, AI education for children, the implications of AI technology, and its influences on human relationships. She has contributed to the research and development of an AI Education curriculum intended for middle schoolers and a project-based learning curriculum for high school mathematics. She is skilled in mixed methods and is currently exploring text-based analysis using large language models. Outside of her research role, she enjoys teaching statistics and quantitative methods as a Lecturer of Quantitative Psychology at Harvard University.
