Ganesh Jayaram

Ganesh Jayaram is responsible for the leadership of regulatory affairs, harmonized standards and compliance activities for Technologies in Automated/Connected Vehicles, Intelligent Transport Systems and Semiconductors at CARIAD, the technology arm of the Volkswagen Group.
In this strategic role, he drives key initiatives in standardization, harmonization, external regulations, policy framework and compliance programs, representing the mobility industry across multiple international bodies.

Ganesh holds a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and brings extensive experience from leading global manufacturers, including Volkswagen Group, Renault Nissan, Toyota, Mercedes-Benz, and Geely.

His career spans the development of safety-critical systems, systems engineering, process audits and quality, with a strong emphasis on harmonization, standardization, and regulatory alignment to advance industry-wide best practices. He also plays a pivotal role in implementing strategic decisions in alignment with predefined regulatory frameworks.

Ganesh Jayaram currently chairs an Expert Group at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), coordinated by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).

Ganesh represents the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA). He maintains active engagement across national and international working groups focused on advancing Intelligent Mobility, Semiconductors, Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) technologies.
