Dhanushi Hettiarachchi

Dr. Dhanushi Hettiarachchi is a Chevening CRISP Fellow at the University of Oxford and
specialized in Medical Software and AI through Yale School of Medicine. A medical doctor and AI-health entrepreneur, she works at the intersection of clinical medicine, artificial intelligence, and equitable healthcare access.

She is the Co-Founder & CEO of Ophtha Innovations, the first female doctor-led AI-based MedTech startup in Sri Lanka, focused on preventing avoidable blindness through early diabetic retinopathy detection. Her work has been recognized by WIPO for pioneering AI-driven eye care innovation and advancing inclusive health solutions for underserved communities. She also contributes as a Working Group Member of the WHO/WIPO/ITU Global Initiative on AI for Healthcare and is a member of the eTrade for Women community, supporting ethical, inclusive, and globally accessible AI-driven healthcare solutions.
