Dechopol Kowintaweewat

Dechopol Kowintaweewat

Dechopol Kowintaweewat’s performances have received consistent acclaim from the press. The Boston Musical Intelligencer called his playing “deeply lyrical,” and New York’s Oberon’s Grove wrote that his “singing, satiny tone constantly reached the heart. For such music, and such playing, unbounded gratitude.”

As a winner of the Young Concert Artists International Auditions as member of the Zorá String Quartet, he gave critically-acclaimed debut concerts in New York, Washington, DC and Boston. The Quartet also captured Grand Prizes at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, and Coleman Chamber Ensemble Competition

Originally from Bangkok, Thailand, Dechopol has earned degrees from Oberlin Conservatory, Indiana University, the Curtis Institute of Music and the Norwegian Academy of Music and currently holds the position of Co-Principal Second Violin of the Norwegian Radio Orchestra.
