David Munoz Tord is a data scientist and statistical programmer with a strong background in computational neuroscience and applied data science. With extensive experience in research and industry, he specializes in data preprocessing, ingestion, statistical modeling, visualization, and results communication. His work has consistently focused on helping companies and researchers analyze, manage, and extract meaningful insights from their datasets.

David studied Computational Neuroscience from the University of Geneva, where he was immersed in the world of computational models and data analysis techniques to better understand the human brain. During his research career, he contributed to renowned institutions such as the Geneva Neurocenter and the Swiss Center for Affective Sciences, where he applied advanced data-driven methods to neuroscientific research.

Beyond academia, David has been actively involved in fostering the data science community. As a co-founder of We Data, he has worked to promote data science education and accessibility through blog posts, YouTube tutorials, and hands-on workshops. We Data’s mission is to empower individuals—especially in the social sciences—to leverage data science for informed decision-making. His engagement with initiatives such as the UniGe Take Over has further emphasized his commitment to knowledge sharing. Through this initiative, he and his team provided students at the University of Geneva with a platform to share academic insights and experiences in computer science. Additionally, he has played a key role in organizing R-Lunches—multidisciplinary meetings at UniMail—where researchers and professionals gather to discuss and present topics related to R programming and data science.

David’s passion for open-source development has led him to contribute as an R developer for Opifex, where he has worked on statistical and data-driven tools aimed at enhancing data analysis capabilities. He has also worked as a freelance data scientist for various companies and nonprofit organizations, providing expert guidance on data science workflows, statistical methodologies, and software development.

Currently, David is a Senior Statistical Programmer at Johnson & Johnson, where he applies his expertise in programming and statistical analysis to support clinical research and data-driven decision-making. His work focuses on developing robust statistical solutions to facilitate research, optimize data processes, and drive impactful insights in the healthcare industry.

With a deep-rooted passion for data science, David continues to engage in both professional and community-driven projects that bridge the gap between complex data analysis and real-world applications.
