David Moses

Dr. David Moses is a brain-computer-interface researcher within the Edward Chang lab at UCSF. He joined the lab over ten years ago as a PhD student developing approaches to decode words and sentences from brain activity in real time. After graduating, he stayed on to demonstrate the world’s first speech neuroprosthesis with his colleagues, leading multiple efforts to translate the brain activity of persons with severe paralysis into words and sentences that they attempted to say. Today, he remains at the forefront of neurotechnology aimed at restoring expressive and embodying communication to persons who are unable to speak.
