Chenayi Mutambasere

Chenayi Mutambasere is a Development Economist and Global Enterprise Architect with over 20 years of experience spanning the finance, legal, and public sectors. She currently serves as Director at the Africa Centre for Economic Justice, where she leads initiatives focused on advancing economic equity, AI governance and inclusive digital transformation across Africa.

Chenayi’s work bridges technology and social impact addressing “data poverty” as a development challenge and advocating for AI frameworks that promote fairness, transparency, and inclusion. In her professional career, she has led on the development of enterprise architecture transformation in the banking and legal sectors, focusing on resilient, data-driven systems.

Chenayi is a TEDx speaker, where she explored how inclusive AI can empower African societies by tackling data poverty and ensuring the continent’s voices shape the digital future. She is a published author, with contributions in economic policy journals and edited volumes. 

She previously served for 6 years as Vice Chair of Governors at the University Technical College Media City in Salford, – contributing to leadership in education and youth empowerment in digital and creative industries. Chenayi is also an active commentator on governance and economic justice, contributing to policy and media discussions on Africa’s evolving digital economy.
