Caleb Robinson

Caleb Robinson is a Principal Research Scientist at the Microsoft AI for Good Research Lab. He earned his PhD from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2020, and his work focuses on large-scale problems at the intersection of remote sensing and machine learning/computer vision. At Microsoft, he co-leads the Geospatial ML research group and serves as the lead researcher for Global Renewables Watch, rapid damage assessment, and global building-density estimation efforts. His research aims to make remotely sensed imagery more useful for conservation, sustainability, and damage-response applications, with a focus on self-supervised learning from unlabeled satellite imagery, human-in-the-loop methods for creating and validating modeled layers, and domain adaptation approaches that generalize across space and time.
