Birhan Abuhay Jemere

I am Birhan Abuhay Jemere, a Lecturer and AI Researcher at Debre Tabor University, Ethiopia, working at the intersection of artificial intelligence, edge computing, cybersecurity, and inclusive digital access. My work focuses on building transparent, resource-efficient AI systems for communities where connectivity, computing power, and digital infrastructure are limited.

I develop offline-first and explainable AI solutions, including AmbaAI, a multilingual educational platform, and OmniMark, a document accessibility engine designed for low-resource environments. In cybersecurity, my research explores interpretable defense mechanisms such as Multi-Vector Explainable AI and Asm2SrcMatcher, a human-in-the-loop framework for reverse engineering and malware analysis.

At the AI for Good Global Summit, I advocate for practical, inclusive, and trustworthy AI that expands access to knowledge, strengthens digital resilience, and supports communities across the Global South.
