Augmented Food

Augmented Food

Augmented Food is a design-led approach to reimagining how we engage with food through the lens of emerging technologies. It invites us to think of food not just as nourishment, but as a medium for interaction, emotion, and storytelling—one that can be enhanced, reprogrammed and recontextualized.

In a world facing shifting food systems, Augmented Food proposes new ways to connect innovation with meaning. From AI-driven agriculture to digital dining experiences, it asks: How can technology deepen our sensory, cultural, and ethical relationship with what we eat?

This concept inspired the panel Shaping Tomorrow’s Plates: The Future of Food with AI, which I initiated, curated, and moderated as part of the United Nations AI for Good Summit. The discussion brought together voices from science, design, and gastronomy to explore how we might build more inclusive, resilient, and imaginative food futures.

The next edition of the panel will take place in September 2025, continuing the dialogue around how we can shape food systems that are not only smarter but also more human.
