Arnhild Spence

Arnhild Spence is the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Bosnia and Herzegovina. A Norwegian national, she brings over 30 years of experience across government, intergovernmental organizations, the United Nations and civil society, spanning international relations, security, diplomacy, development and humanitarian affairs.

She most recently served as United Nations Development Coordinator in Kosovo and previously held leadership roles at the World Food Programme, including Director of Partnerships, as well as country programme positions in Africa and Asia. Earlier in her career she worked with the Norwegian Refugee Council and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and held positions with the Norwegian ministries of foreign affairs and defence, European Union institutions and NATO Headquarters in Brussels. She holds a master’s degree in international relations from the University of Oslo.
