Alessandra Furtado is a seasoned International Development executive with over 25 years of experience leading programs and institutional transformations across Latin America, Africa, Asia, and Europe. She currently serves as Director of Programs at the International Potato Center (CIP), where she drives strategic alignment, digital transformation, and programmatic excellence in agriculture and food systems.

Her extensive career spans key roles in international public and nonprofit organizations, including The Nature Conservancy, USAID, the European Commission, Leonard Cheshire Disability, and the University of Brighton. Alessandra brings deep expertise in the agriculture, environment, and energy sectors, with a strong record in program management, monitoring and evaluation, digital transformation and multi-stakeholder partnerships. She is also recognized for her contributions to social inclusion, particularly disability inclusion in development programming.
