The UN Leaders Roundtable Lunch is an exclusive, invitation-only gathering of senior United Nations officials. The event provides a platform for high-level dialogue on leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance coordination, operational efficiency, and innovation across the UN system. Through strategic discussions, participants aim to identify practical ways AI can support more effective delivery of the UN’s mandates and strengthen collaboration among agencies.

Based on LinkedIn’s global workforce data, what emerging trends are you seeing in the skills transformation required for organizations to keep pace with AI and automation? How can tools and platforms, such as LinkedIn, be used by multilateral organizations to better match talent to global needs, especially in under-resourced regions?

How can we ensure that AI-driven infrastructure projects are inclusive and designed to benefit marginalized or underserved communities globally? Can you share examples of work that has led to measurable improvements in public service delivery or institutional efficiency in the Global South?

What breakthroughs from your research in AI or edge computing could be transformative for government-scale systems, such as smart cities or public health networks? As AI systems continue to grow in complexity and scale, how can the UN engage, lead, and, not least, stay apace with the opportunities afforded by these developments and their impact on societies?

How does Microsoft envision the role of quantum in the future? What steps can the UN and other organizations take today to prepare for a quantum-enabled future?

Final Question to all firestarters: What would a “digitally transformed” UN look like by 2030—and what role do emerging technologies such as AI and other kinds of frontier technologies play in getting us there?
