This is a replay of the session that took place on the Solutions Stage during the AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva, Switzerland from 8 to 11 July, 2025. As humanitarian needs grow in scale, complexity, and urgency—and amid a dire financial crisis—the humanitarian aid system has embarked on a Reset. This shift demands not only new tools, but also new ways of thinking, collaborating, and leading. Artificial Intelligence offers powerful opportunities to transform humanitarian action through faster decision-making, stronger early warning systems, and more equitable service delivery.

Between March and May this year, the IASC Secretariat, together with ITU and OCHA, organized a series of four AI for Good webinars exploring the opportunities and challenges of adopting AI in humanitarian response. These sessions emphasized the importance of building strong partnerships, ensuring access to reliable and interoperable data, securing sustainable financing, and powering AI for humanitarian action. They also raised early concerns about the dual-use nature of AI—its potential to reduce humanitarian needs, but also to exacerbate them through increased misinformation, disinformation, and hate speech.

At the AI for Good Summit, this session will reflect on the key insights from the webinar series and highlight how the humanitarian and tech sectors can build strategic alliances to support the ethical and scalable use of AI in crises. We’ll focus on how trust, coordination, and shared values can unlock innovation while upholding humanitarian principles.
