Cellular and Wi-Fi communication systems are incorporating millimeter wave spectrum into the possible operation bands. This, together with the introduction of MIMO systems with a large number of antennas, provides the key ingredients to operate with a very good angle and delay resolution, which offers the potential of accurate position and orientation estimation of a device. In this talk, I summarize recent work on mmWave localization, both in data driven and model driven approaches. I also describe the challenge on multi-device localization in a factory based on a data set obtained by electromagnetic simulation of this type of environment.
