Artificial Intelligence (AI) is impacting our everyday lives and is transforming the world. This hands-on MathDance workshop is an opportunity for future leaders to learn mathematics, computer science, and AI in a holistic and integrated manner. Participants will develop a fun game using a Machine Learning (Deep Learning) tool and the Scratch programming language.

In this first session, participants will start by learning Scratch coding and basic mathematical equation graphs. Once the concept of AI/ML (Machine Learning) is introduced, participants will practice image recognition projects using Google’s Teachable Machine. Subsequently, participants will learn how to connect Scratch code to an AI model trained on the cloud and build a small, simple image recognition app.

Please find below more information regarding the Workshop:

    • Computer requirements: a PC (Windows or Mac) is preferred. A webcam. Internet connection. An Internet browser. Tablet computers are also fine. Cell phones are NOT recommended.
    • Technical questions will be answered via the Neural Network
    • Eligibility: at least a week of Scratch coding experience (Or a month of any computer programming experience)
    • Target Audience: students of grade 6 – 12 (Middle & High School) as of fall 2024, teachers and parents, and any adults

In the second session on 25 September, advanced scratch coding skills will be covered. Advanced math equation graphs will also be taught. Then participants will be instructed step by step to build our MathDance game app.
