    This beginner-friendly course introduces the core principles of artificial intelligence (AI), with no prior experience required. Through interactive lessons and hands on case studies you will work in a team to design a predictive analytics system, participants will learn what AI is and how it works in real world scenarios. Learners will also learn to identify potential issues aligned with bias, fairness, privacy, and transparency. They will examine how AI systems are developed and used, and how different decisions can impact individuals and society. This course is ideal for students, professionals, and anyone curious about AI who wants to go beyond the headlines and think critically about how these technologies shape our world.

     

    Learning objectives:

    By the end of the workshop, learners will be able to:

    • Define basic concepts related to artificial intelligence, including algorithms, data and predictive analytics. (Remember)
    • Describe common applications of AI in everyday life and their societal impact. (Understand)
    • Explain key principles of responsible AI, including fairness, transparency, accountability, and privacy. (Understand)
    • Compare design decisions across different AI use cases. (Apply)
    • Evaluate AI systems for how they use data and influence and/or serve the customer. (Evaluate)
    • Analyze the implications of AI design choices on how products manifest and interact with people. (Analyze)
