As the humanitarian sector wades deeper into the AI age, critical questions about data readiness come to the forefront. This webinar delves into the challenges and opportunities of adapting humanitarian data systems—examining the need for robust standards, secure APIs, and scalable infrastructure and inter-operability. It also highlights the growing role of the private sector in providing data warehousing and computational power, while hinting towards the ethical and practical implications of these partnerships (addressed fully in another session).

Additionally, the discussion will cover what data can be collected and why, referencing the Responsible Data for Children initiative (UNICEF, GovLab) for best practices in ethical data use. One aspect to consider is what changes when data can be aggregated and the added value that aggregation and annotation provide.

Participants will gain insights into best practices for data management and explore case studies showcasing successful AI integration in humanitarian contexts. Join us to explore how the humanitarian community can harness AI responsibly to transform data into actionable insights for crisis response.
