“Taking urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts” is a crucial goal set forward under Goal 13 – Climate Action as part of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Climate action requires global efforts related to climate change mitigation – reducing the flow of heat-trapping greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, or enhancing the “sinks” that accumulate and store these gases alongside climate change adaptation – adjustments in ecological, social, or economic systems in response to actual or expected climatic stimuli and their effects or impacts.

Geospatial data, technologies, and services are essential tools for governments, businesses, and civil society, to better understand and manage our world. Today, these technologies are more critical than ever, as we face global challenges like climate change and truly embrace sustainable practices. This workshop, moderated by the World Geospatial Industry Council (WGIC) demonstrates use cases on integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning with geospatial and Earth observation data, driving insights, to provide meaningful and effective solutions for climate action.

This live event includes a 30-minute networking event hosted on the AI for Good Neural Network. This is your opportunity to ask questions, interact with the panelists and participants and build connections with the AI for Good community.
