To support future intelligent multifunctional 6G wireless communication networks, Synesthesia of Machines (SoM) is proposed as a novel paradigm for AI-native task-oriented intelligent multi-modal sensing–communication integration. Recently, wireless foundation models have emerged as a new paradigm for AI-enabled wireless systems, promising to significantly improve the generalization performance of both communication and sensing tasks. Building on WiFo, the first wireless foundation model designed for channel prediction, ITU launched the Synesthesia of Machines (SoM) Challenge 2025 to fully explore its potential in empowering a wide range of wireless downstream tasks in SoM systems. The challenge attracted strong participation from both academia and industry, and delivered outstanding solutions.

In this webinar, the top three winning teams will be invited to present their proposed solutions in detail. We believe that the models and training strategies developed by different teams will offer fresh insights into the design of WiFo-enabled SoM systems. In addition, ITU will award the winning team certificates and a total prize of CHF 4,000.
