  • Date
    31 October 2025

    11:30 - 15:15 SAST Johannesburg
    Duration
    3h 45 minutes

The AI Readiness workshop provides a platform to advance discussions on how to evaluate and strengthen domain and organizational preparedness for AI adoption. Building on the report “Preliminary Analysis Towards a Standardized Readiness Framework”, the workshop examines six key dimensions of AI readiness: data, research collaboration, deployment support, standards, open source/code, and sandbox environments.

Following this foundation, ITU and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia launched version 1.0 of the ITU AI Readiness Report and a Call for Engagement (CfE) for the ITU AI Readiness Plugfest at the 2024 GAIN Summit. By July 2025, presentations from Plugfest projects and partners at the AI for Good Summit showcased practical methodologies for evaluating readiness in real-world domains, while proposing new contributions to the development of a standardized AI readiness framework.

This workshop will feature key learnings from preparatory meetings, including industry feedback, insights from the Pilot AI Readiness Plugfest, and a closer look at the evolving toolkit design that supports stakeholders in strengthening their AI readiness strategies.
