AI holds the potential to strengthen global food systems by optimizing agricultural practices, improving supply chain transparency, and enhancing resilience to climate impacts. However, scaling these innovations requires common frameworks and international standards to ensure interoperability, trust, and inclusiveness. This session will explore how AI standards can accelerate innovation in food,  to support food security, and foster collaboration across governments, industry, and research communities.

      Learning Objectives:

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

      • Identify key applications of AI in agriculture and food systems where international standards can enhance impact.
      • Explain how interoperability, transparency, and ethical considerations are addressed through AI standards in food-related use cases.
      • Analyze challenges in adopting AI for food security across diverse regions and stakeholders.
      • Evaluate the role of  standards bodies in scaling AI-driven solutions for food systems.
