As deepfakes and synthetic media technologies evolve at an unprecedented pace, they offer groundbreaking creative opportunities while simultaneously posing serious challenges to trust, authenticity, and individual rights. In response, the AI and Multimedia Authenticity Standards Collaboration—established under the World Standards Cooperation at the AI for Good Global Summit 2024—has been working to secure the integrity of digital content. Join us for an in-depth discussion on navigating this rapidly shifting digital landscape. This session will spotlight key findings from two landmark publications: a technical paper mapping the standardization landscape for multimedia authenticity, and a policy paper outlining regulatory measures to combat threats such as misinformation, disinformation, and deepfakes. The AI and Multimedia Authenticity Standards Collaboration calls for our shared responsibility in fostering an environment of trust and accountability in the era of generative artificial intelligence
