The transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) is significant, and it has already begun to revolutionize many different fields. The AI for Safer Children initiative seeks to support law enforcement agencies globally to exploring the positive potential of AI in tackling child sexual exploitation and abuse online. Through the initiative, specialized training is provided to law enforcement agencies in Member States focusing on the use of AI and related technologies across an investigative workflow in combatting child sexual exploitation and abuse and establishing responsible practices of implementation. Experts provide insights during the course on the basics of AI, how to operationalize principles of responsible AI, how to integrate various tools and techniques throughout eight steps of an investigation workflow, and technology providers are invited to provide demonstrations of specific tools or techniques of interest to the agency.
