Alex Bernasconi

Alex is an Applications Project Manager at the Open Quantum Institute (OQI), a multilateral governance initiative hosted at CERN, championing global, equitable, and inclusive access to quantum computing while creating pathways to realise this vision. The role involves working with multistakeholder teams to develop quantum computing use cases aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, fostering meaningful collaboration and enabling the tools, frameworks, and resources needed to deliver impactful outcomes. A strong passion lies in bridging cutting-edge science with real-world impact by bringing together people and ideas to drive meaningful innovation.
Before joining OQI, Alex worked as a Quantum Engineer, contributing to the development of next-generation quantum hardware at QphoX in Delft, The Netherlands. Alex holds a MSc degree in Interdisciplinary Science from ETH Zurich, specializing in Quantum Physics.
