Julien Brajard

Julien Brajard

Julien Brajard is researcher at the Nansen Environmental and Remote Sensing Center in Bergen (Norway). He is also associate professor of Sorbonne University. He works on proposing new methodologies to extract knowledge from data and physical systems, more specifically in oceanography, using remote sensing data (satellite sensors). He developed approaches at the crossroad between data assimilation and machine learning to improve the forecast skill of numerical models. Beyond those scientific achievements, those results were supported by a constant effort to gather scientist and topics over several disciplines (climate, computer science, artificial intelligence). This activity was implemented through the organization of working groups, conference and the promotion of dedicated sessions in international conferences.
