Amanda Girth

Amanda Girth

Amanda Girth is an associate professor and Director of Washington Programs at the John Glenn College of Public Affairs at The Ohio State University, based in Washington, D.C. She is a nationally recognized expert in acquisition policy and practice, with a research focus on how governments design accountability structures, manage complex institutional partnerships, and foster innovation in acquisition systems. She is a principal investigator on a series of U.S. federally funded projects through the Acquisition Innovation Research Center, of which she is a Research Council member. Her work has informed federal policy at the highest levels, including invited testimony before the U.S. Congress. Girth is a faculty affiliate of the Center on Responsible Artificial Intelligence and Governance (CRAIG), an NSF-funded Industry-University Cooperative Research Center focused on developing the knowledge and workforce required to pursue AI that is safe, accurate, and accountable. She represents OSU’s commitment to this mission through its bold, university-wide AI Fluency initiative to ensure every undergraduate student graduates fluent in both their field of study and the application of AI within it. She holds a doctorate in public administration from American University, an MBA from The George Washington University, and a B.S. from Oakland University.
