International Telecommunication Union (ITU)

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the United Nations agency for digital technologies, invites visitors to explore Digital Lifelines — an immersive exhibition highlighting the critical role of radiocommunications, satellite orbits, submarine cables and emerging technologies in keeping the world connected, informed and safe.

At the ITU booth, visitors can experience virtual and mixed reality demonstrations and explore real-world technology artefacts, centred around a life-size emergency helicopter. The exhibition showcases the invisible networks and systems that support early warnings for all, emergency communications and safe navigation in the air, on land and at sea. From submarine cables beneath the oceans to satellites in space, visitors will discover how resilient digital infrastructure underpins modern life and how international cooperation helps ensure these digital lifelines remain strong when they are needed most.

AI for Good is organized by ITU in partnership with over 50 UN sister agencies. ITU and UNESCO serve as the joint secretariat of the Global Dialogue on AI Governance. In addition, ITU co-hosts the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum with Switzerland.
