Temesgen Gebeyehu

Temesgen Gebeyehu is the Digital Agriculture program Director in the Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Agency (ATA). In ATA, Temesgen has been leading the implementation of various projects such as 8028 Farmers’ hotline, the National Market Information system for Agricultural commodities (nmis.et), Agricultural Investment Mapping, and FPC Digitization projects. The hotline is the largest farmers’ advisory service in Africa with 6 million users for accessing a wide range of agricultural content via IVR (voice) and SMS nationally. Prior to joining ATA, Temesgen had worked for World Vision (WV) in different capacities playing a leading role in the development of various applications.

Temesgen is a result-oriented professional with 15 years of experience in ICT, database development and administration, data management, Agribusiness, and Markets, in various sectors and, with the last 7 years focused on digital agriculture projects portfolio management and implementation.

Temesgen attended the Addis Ababa University, where he received his B.Sc. in Information System, and M.Sc. in Information Science. He has also a Certificate In Digital Money (CIDM), Certified International Project Manager (CIPM), Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP); Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS); Certificate in Digitizing Agriculture and attended other relevant wide range of training in up-to-date technologies.
