Unitree G1

Unitree Robotics, headquartered in Hangzhou, is a globally renowned robotics company focusing on the independent research, development, production, and sales of high-performance, general-purpose legged/humanoid robots and dexterous robotic arms for both consumer and industrial markets. The company has been invited to participate in prestigious events such as the 2021 CCTV Spring Festival Gala (Year of the Ox), the 2022 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony, the 2023 Super Bowl Pre-Show, the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games and Asian Para Games, and the upcoming 2025 CCTV Spring Festival Gala (Year of the Snake). It has also been featured multiple times by authoritative media outlets such as CCTV’s News Broadcast. Unitree continues to delve deeply into areas such as core robotic components, motion control, robotic perception and decision-making, and robotic AI, positioning itself as an industry leader.

Unitree was the first company in the world to publicly retail high-performance quadruped robots and the earliest to achieve industrial applications. Both its research and production are based in the Binjiang High-Tech Zone of Hangzhou. Unitree’s quadruped robots account for 60-70% of global shipments, and the company leads globally in the delivery of large-sized general-purpose humanoid robots. Its business operations span over 50% of countries and regions worldwide.

Since its inception in 2016, Unitree has dedicated itself to the independent development of high-performance general-purpose legged robots for both consumer and industrial applications. It has consistently pursued independent innovation in both hardware and software, achieving a leading global position in legged robot technology. Unitree has filed over 200 domestic and international patents, with more than 180 granted to date.

The prototype for Unitree’s quadruped robots was “XDog,” designed by the company’s founder, Xingxing Wang, during his studies at Shanghai University in 2015. Through iterations of products such as Laikago, Aliengo, and A1, Unitree launched the world’s first consumer-grade companion biomimetic quadruped robot, Go1, in 2021, which can run at speeds of up to 4.7 m/s. In 2023, the upgraded Go2 came equipped with a 4D ultra-wide-angle LiDAR, enhancing its perception system by 200%, and powered by AI large models, establishing it as a new species of embodied intelligence.

Since 2017, Unitree has focused on industrial applications, excelling in fields such as power inspection and fire rescue. In November 2023, it launched the B2 industrial-grade quadruped robot, which boasts outstanding endurance, payload capacity, terrain adaptability, and sustained stair-climbing capabilities, with a maximum running speed of 6 m/s. The B2 robot has been widely applied in industries such as petrochemicals and power, offering efficient and safe solutions across various sectors.

In 2023, Unitree developed the H1 general-purpose humanoid robot in just six months, achieving mass production and delivery within the same year. The H1 continued to iterate rapidly, setting a global record with a running speed of 3.3 m/s and becoming the first full-sized electric humanoid robot capable of performing a standing backflip.

In 2024, Unitree launched the G1 humanoid robot, featuring 23-43 joint motors, standing approximately 127 cm tall and weighing around 35 kg. It possesses extraordinary agility beyond that of humans, unlocking unlimited motion potential. The G1 can jog at speeds greater than 2 m/s and leap up to 1.4 meters in standing long jumps, performing complex dynamic movements such as dynamic standing, folding to sit, and staff-wielding routines. With the support of AI, the G1 continues to evolve through deep reinforcement learning and simulation training.

At the 2025 CCTV Spring Festival Gala (Year of the Snake), Unitree’s H1 humanoid robots made a stunning appearance in a performance directed by Zhang Yimou called “YangBOT,” which featured robots performing the traditional Chinese “Yangko” dance. This marked the first large-scale global public performance of fully AI-driven humanoid robot clusters, sparking widespread global discussion and attention.

In addition to robots, Unitree has introduced other products, including the Z1 robotic arm, the PUMP fitness pump, and the world’s first omni-directional ultra-wide-angle biomimetic 4D LiDAR systems, L1 & L2, continuously expanding the ecosystem of intelligent mobile robots.

Unitree firmly believes that technological advancement is the key to human freedom. Through cutting-edge electromechanical and control technologies, Unitree imbues machines with agility and intelligence, creating high-performance robotic companions that integrate seamlessly into daily life. The power of technology will continuously extend the boundaries of humanity, opening a future filled with freedom and possibilities.
