Shohini Ghose

Shohini Ghose is a Professor of Physics & NSERC Chair for Women in Science and Engineering at Wilfrid Laurier University, and the Chief Technology Officer of the Quantum Algorithms Institute. She is an internationally recognized theoretical physicist working on foundational questions in quantum information science as well as developing real-world application of quantum technologies with industry partners. She is a member of Canada’s Quantum Advisory Council for the National Quantum Strategy, and she has served on the Advisory Board of the UNESCO International Basic Sciences Program. Dr. Ghose is the founding Director of the nationally recognized Laurier Centre for Women in Science and was President (2019-20) of the Canadian Association of Physicists. Her awards include a TED Senior Fellowship and selection to the College of the Royal Society of Canada, and her online talks and videos have received over 8 million views. Her recent book Her Space, Her Time won the 2023 Science Writers and Communicators of Canada book award. Dr. Ghose recently founded the Centre for Responsible Quantum Innovation and Technologies (CRQIT) with partners from academia and industry across Canada.
