Nicolas Arrieta Larraza is a Machine Learning Researcher at Bang & Olufsen, specializing in acoustic signal processing and the deployment of AI models on highly resource-constrained embedded devices. With an international background in Telecommunication Engineering and Data Science, he combines technical expertise with a passion for innovation in audio technologies.

Beyond his professional work, Nicolas is deeply committed to leveraging artificial intelligence for environmental and wildlife protection. He has actively contributed as a volunteer to projects such as seal face identification for Colgate University and automatic detection of Forest Elephant rumbles for Stanford and Cornell universities. In addition, he collaborates with eco-activists worldwide on personal initiatives, including identification of Short-finned Pilot Whales through fin recognition in Canary Islands and acoustic detection of illegal logging in Mexican mangrove forests.
