Moon Choi

Moon Choi is the Head and Associate Professor of the Graduate School of Science and Technology Policy at KAIST. She founded the Aging and Technology Policy Lab in 2014 (https://aging.kaist.ac.kr), leading research at the intersection of aging and emerging technologies. Her work focuses on developing AI- and gamification-based interventions to bridge the digital divide, creating sustainable mobility policies for super-aged societies, and designing AI agents and policies to empower older adults and individuals with disabilities. She has served as a consultant for the United Nations and is a member of several policy committees across Korean government ministries. Additionally, she chairs the OECD-Korea Digital Society Initiative Steering Group.

Prof. Choi’s interdisciplinary academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from Yonsei University, a master’s degree in Social Welfare from Seoul National University, and a Ph.D. in Social Welfare from Case Western Reserve University in the U.S. She was the Science Program Chair for the 2022 World Conference of Gerontechnology and currently serves on the steering committee of ACM Conference on Fairness, Accountability, and Transparency (FAccT).
