Michaela Lissowsky

Michaela Lissowsky is a human rights expert with a strong academic and professional background. Her international experience spans Geneva, Nuremberg and The Hague — key centers of human rights discourse — where she has gained valuable expertise at the intersection of legal and political accountability. What sets her professional path apart is her proven record in building and leading impactful human rights institutions.

She currently leads the Human Rights Hub at the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom in Geneva, where she explores human rights in the context of contemporary challenges posed by the post-truth society and digital transformation. Previously, she served as Founding Director of the International Nuremberg Principles Academy, where she oversaw the establishment of the institution at the historic site of the Nuremberg Trials. During her doctoral research, she was a Visiting Researcher at the Trust Fund for Victims at the International Criminal Court in The Hague. She holds a PhD in Political Science from Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg.
