Manuel Bernal Lecina

Manuel Bernal Lecina is a PhD student in the Join Doctoral Program for the Learning Sciences (JDPLS). As a student of EPFL and ETHZ, his research focuses on the development of educational robotics and its integration in the classroom. Manuel has an entrepreneurial past and future. As founder of LoCo CORP, he promoted the transversal use of technology in schools, colleges and universities. With a constructivist (and constructionist) approach to learning, robotics has been the medium and tool with the highest potential to impact learning in the last decade. Encourage cross-curricular skills and allow the use of technology without screens. Keep motivation high, but avoid constant stimulation. Currently, the MOBOTS Lab is developing new robotic solutions to evaluate new types of interactions and user experiences, this time focusing on the teacher’s emotions and interest in the educational tools. This research aims to help teachers cope with the constant technological advances they have to integrate into their daily work.
