Iris Kramer

Dr Iris Kramer is pioneering the application of AI for historic environments. Iris holds a BA and MSc in Archaeology and did her PhD in Computer Science on the use of deep learning to detect archaeological sites on Earth Observation data. Early 2020 she founded ArchAI a startup that is de-risking land development by automatically detecting geo-risks and opportunities including archaeology. ArchAI has customers including the Forestry Commission and the National Trust and received funding and support from Geovation, Royal Academy of Engineering, Innovate UK, UK Space Agency, NESTA, and ESA Business Incubation Centre.
