H.E. Prof. Muhammadou M. O. Kah

His Excellency Amb. Prof. Muhammadou M.O. Kah is the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of The Republic of the Gambia to the Swiss confederation & Permanent Representative to the UN Offices at Geneva (UNOG) World Trade Organization (WTO), and other international Organizations at Switzerland.

Ambassador Professor Muhammadou M.O. Kah is a distinguished diplomat, academic, and technology policy leader with a rich career spanning international diplomacy, higher education, and global governance. He currently serves as Chairman of the UN Commission on Science and Technology for Development (CSTD) and Vice Chair of its Working Group on Data Governance. He also chairs the WIPO High-Level Conversations on IP and Frontier Technologies/AI and is a founding board member of Health AI.

Amb. Prof. Kah has held several key leadership roles in Geneva-based international organizations. These include Chairman of the Africa Group of Ambassadors (2021), Vice President (Africa) of the UN Human Rights Council (2022–2023), Vice Chair of the 34th ICRC International Conference, and Advisory Board Member of the UNCTAD Trade and Development Bureau (2021–2023). He also served as Friend of the Chair and Vice Chair of the WIPO General Assembly.
In academia, he was Vice Chancellor of the University of The Gambia, Vice President and Provost at the American University of Nigeria, and Vice Rector for Technology and Innovation at ADA University, Azerbaijan. He has taught at institutions including Howard, Rutgers, and George Washington University.

Prof. Kah is the founding Chairman of Zenith Bank Gambia, a member of the Malabo Montpellier Panel, and serves on the boards of AATF and effective RAI. He holds a Ph.D., MSc, and BSc from Stevens Institute of Technology, an MSc in Finance from George Washington University, and a postgraduate diploma from Oxford University. He was awarded an honorary Doctor of Science by the University of The Gambia.
