Eng. Md. Mohiuddin Ahmed

Engineer Md. Mohiuddin Ahmed took responsibility as Chairman of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) on 14th December 2023. Prior to this he served as Commissioner and later as Vice-Chairman for the Commission since 30 May 2019. 

With his diverse roles in BTRC he possesses in-depth knowledge on regulations, policy matters and recent trends and practices in the field of telecommunications. As a Commissioner of BTRC he played leading roles in the recent two spectrum auctions which were considered as successful ones in the telecom world.  He has also contributed in ensuring QoS benchmark of Cellular Mobile Phone service and implementation of IP Based interconnectivity in Bangladesh. 

Prior to his tenure at BTRC, Engr. Ahmed gained valuable experience working with renowned companies like Rogers Communication Inc, Canada and Meghna International Inc, Canada. His consultancy roles for prestigious projects like Ashuganj-Bakhrabad Pipeline in Bangladesh and Saudi ARAMCO in KSA showcase his expertise on a global scale. 

Engr. Ahmed graduated from Bangladesh University of Engineering (BUET) with Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and later completed Masters of Business Administration (MBA). He is a Life Fellow of the Institute of Engineers (IEB), Bangladesh.
