Diego Gabriel Sanchez Cruz

Diego Gabriel Sánchez Cruz is an emerging leader at the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI), renewable energy, and geographic information systems (GIS). He is currently pursuing a degree in Renewable Energies (solar specialization) at UTVCO and a Law degree at UNAM, combining technical expertise with legal and policy insights.

As a Local Winner of the NASA Space Apps Challenge 2024, Diego co-developed a GIS-based AI application optimizing business locations in Mexico’s Interoceanic Corridor, utilizing demographic, crime, and land-use data. His work demonstrates the potential of AI and spatial analysis in sustainable development.

Diego holds certifications in Artificial Reasoning and Generative AI (UNAM), Cloud Computing (Google), and Renewable Energy Technologies (University of Colorado Boulder). He also serves as Student Council Representative for Renewable Energies at UTVCO, promoting sustainable policies and technological innovation.

With expertise in AI, sustainability, and law, Diego is committed to leveraging emerging technologies to address environmental and socio-economic challenges. His goal is to bridge AI, energy, and policy to create data-driven solutions for a more resilient and sustainable future.
