Danna Ingleton

Danna Ingleton is a seasoned human rights advocate, leader and legal expert with a  career in advancing civil society protections and digital rights. Currently serving as the Executive Director of HURIDOCS, she leads initiatives that empower human rights defenders and organizations through innovative information management and documentation tools, methodologies and more.

Prior to her role at HURIDOCS, Danna held significant positions at Amnesty International, including Deputy Director of Amnesty Tech, where she spearheaded groundbreaking investigations into surveillance technologies. Her leadership was instrumental in the Pegasus Project, a collaborative effort that exposed the misuse of spyware against activists and journalists worldwide.

Danna’s expertise extends to addressing the human rights implications of emerging technologies. She has actively participated in global forums, such as the Human Rights Council side-event on ‘Digital, Media, and Information Literacy,’ where she emphasized the importance of equipping civil society to navigate the challenges posed by artificial intelligence. Her career is marked by a dedication to protecting human rights in the digital age, supporting marginalized communities, and promoting transparency and accountability through strategic leadership and collaboration.
