Anupama Shekhar

Anu leads the Skills for Social Impact Program team at Microsoft Philanthropies. Her team focuses on providing digital and AI skills and education access to people around the world. The team’s work enables skills outcomes for teachers, jobseekers, workers, entrepreneurs and students. This includes areas such as AI, Computer Science, and Cybersecurity skills. Anu previously led the Pratham Institute, a nonprofit organization focused on skilling individuals across India on vocational and digital skills. Anu has extensive leadership experience in the nonprofit and private sector, across several international locations including the US, Singapore, India and Tanzania. Anu holds an MBA from The Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania and currently serves on the board of Pratham USA and the Workforce Investment Board of San Francisco, and as board observer for Code.org.
