Artificial intelligence (AI) is not yet explicitly mentioned in the digital education curriculum, but it is already establishing itself as a key object for understanding the contemporary digital world.

This workshop explores how classroom activities can introduce AI in a progressive, critical, and appropriate way to students aged 8 to 15. Based on the Plan d’Études Romand (PER), we will present concrete examples of activities that enable students to question, experiment with and understand so-called “intelligent” technologies.

By articulating these three pillars, the PER already offers powerful levers for a reasoned and progressive introduction to artificial intelligence. The aim is to extend the targeted skills – understanding, responsibility, action – to contemporary digital objects of which AI is a particularly structuring example. This approach reinforces critical thinking, autonomy, and the ability to understand the mechanisms shaping today’s digital world.

Come and discover how AI can be approached in the classroom through stories, simple programming, ethical dilemmas or educational games – without requiring advanced technical skills, but building on the educational intentions already present in the curriculum.
